Welcome to tsuribaka, a weblog dedicated to fly fishing in Japan and the United States. Tsuribaka literally means "fish-aholic". And it accurately depicts a large percentage of anglers in Japan. I was fortunate enough to have lived in Japan for a year and half. During that time I became involved with the non-profit group "Slow Life Kakegawa". An organization dedicated to promoting simple living. I signed up for a fly fishing course through the affiliated "Kakegawa Lifestyle Design College". I had always wanted to learn to fly fish but never seemed to have the time. My only regret is that I did not start sooner.
Now that I haved moved back to the US, my goal is to apply these new skills in America. As well as promote cross-cultural relations among Japanese and American fly fishermen.
